Research indicates that high fiber foods have a positive impact on gut health. These foods include: legumes, like black beans and chickpeas. whole grains, like oats and quinoa.  Cut down on fatty foods, such as chips, burgers and fried foods, are harder to digest and can cause stomach pain and heartburn. Cut back on greasy fried foods to ease your stomach's workload. Try to eat more lean meat and fish, drink skimmed or semi-skimmed milk, and grill rather than fry foods.  A whole-foods, plant-based (WFPB) diet for optimal gut health. “A WFPB diet primarily focuses on consuming plant foods, such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds, while minimizing or avoiding animal products, processed foods, and refined sugars and oils.
